Her courage has enabled thousands of people to feel free from the scarring of the emotional, physical and sexual abuse they were subjected to. Christine was one of the first to speak out about her own experiences, which culminated in an apology by government in 1999 and the establishment of a nationwide counselling service, a Commission of Inquiry into Institutional Abuse, and Redress Board.
